NORTON Skived PTFE
NORTON skived PTFE is produced by compression molding a cylindrical billet and “skiving” the film off of the billet in a lathe. Saint-Gobain has made extensive investments in the latest skiving technologies, enabling them to provide customers with high quality, competitively priced products. The Saint-Gobain state-of-the-art skiving lathes make it possible to control to the tightest tolerances in the world.
Norton T-100 Premium Grade skived PTFE Film is manufactured from the Highest quality virgin PTFE resins and are designed to meet the requirements of most electrical, mechanical and industrial applications. Norton T-100 Premium skived PTFE film is available in thicknesses ranging from half mil to 125 mils.
Norton T-300 Standard Grade skived PTFE Film is manufactured from pure virgin PTFE resins and are designed to meet the requirements of most mechanical and industrial applications. Standard grade has the same temperature/corrosion resistant features as our T-100 Premium skived PTFE film and is available in thicknesses ranging from 2 mil to 125 mils.
Norton UHMW PE Film: Norton skived UHMW (ultra high molecular weight) Polyethylene film is a high quality abrasion resistant film that has more than 5 times the abrasion resistance of stainless steel and self lubricating properties similar to PTFE. Norton skived UHMW is well suited for guide rails, slider bed linings, chute linings, countertops and other high wear surfaces. UHMW film also acts as a sound deadening material in conveyor systems and automotive applications, and is acceptable for direct food contact.
NORTON Paste Extruded PTFE
Norton E124 Sintered PTFE Film is a quality high modulus PTFE film manufactured by extrusion and sintering processes. The resulting film is characterized by high dielectric strength and chemical resistance, low moisture absorption and resistance to permeability. Physical properties of sintered extruded PTFE film exceed that of skived PTFE films. Applications include primary wire and cable insulation, coil winding, premium gasketing and diaphragm applications. Operating temperatures range from -100°F to +500° F.
Norton E125 Unsintered PTFE Film is a versatile, high quality, unsintered PTFE film with excellent dielectric strength and conformability. These qualities make it suitable for a variety of electrical applications such as coil winding, wrapping wire harnesses, wire bundles and primary, high temperature cable insulation. The chemical resistance and microporosity of the Norton E125 Unsintered PTFE film also makes it suitable for use in Zinc-air battery applications.
Norton R128 and R129 Premium Extruded PTFE films are designed for use as the primary insulation for high temperature wire and cable and wall construction for convoluted hose. They are available in white and natural as R128 and in many colors as R129. These products are used in the most demanding applications requiring high performance and close tolerances. They are easily applied with industry tape wrapping and sintering equipment and provides excellent dielectric strength, and thermal and chemical resistance. Norton R128 and R129 PTFE meet the requirements of component insulation to MIL-W-16878/4A, 7139B, MIL-W-22759B and NAS703.
Norton R167 Expanded PTFE Film is an expanded, low-density PTFE film designed for microwave and coaxial cable applications. The low dielectric constant and low loss characteristics of this film helps to retain signal strength in high perfomrnace cable constructions. This film is easily applied with standard industry wrapping equipment and is typically shielded or jacketed to protect the dielectric qualities of the film. Norton R167 Expanded PTFE is available only in natural.
